Description of the intervention:
Construction of a structure for a gym, with steel pillars to constitute the earthquake-resistant system, while the flat roof is made by means of main and secondary wooden beams. In order to obtain a rigid diaphragm on the roof, a 18 mm thick OSB sheet was laid, suitably connected to the beam elements, capable of transmitting the seismic shear to all the uprights in proportion to their stiffness. In this way, a more regular dynamic behavior is obtained. The great structural simplicity is aimed at optimizing the material, and nevertheless at allowing maximum distribution freedom, given the absence of wall bracing.
